There’s no attunement item or secret key to hunt for. You just need to be caught up on the story and reach the entrance. Don’t waste time chasing a “Kith’ix key” that doesn’t exist.

How to Reach the Entrance
- Travel to the Coiled Isle and enter the Vaults of Atal’Utek through any of its three entrances.
- Head to the back of the Vaults and into The Underbelly.
- Find the staircase that was previously hidden beneath a pool of venom.
- Go down the stairs. The raid entrance waits at the far end of the room, guarded by some trash mobs.
Pro tip: Method’s guide lists the Underbelly stairs at /way #2613 65.00 29.25. Another guide places the entrance near 74.0, 7.4 on the Vaults map, so use your in-game map to confirm.
Unlocking Story Mode
This is the easy part. Speak to Lady Liadrin in front of the raid entrance. She offers the quest that sends you in, and one Kith’ix kill on any difficulty also completes it. Since it’s a one-boss raid, you won’t wait long for Story Mode or Raid Finder.
Quick Prep Tips
- Keep your Season 2 gear upgraded and stock your usual raid consumables.
- Hold on to Venomcursed items, since the raid’s armor effects get extra damage while Venomcursed.
- Think before using the Catalyst. A Kith’ix armor drop can be a strong candidate for it.
- Remember that a single Kith’ix kill won’t open a Great Vault slot on its own, since the raid row unlocks at 2, 4 and 6 bosses.
