What Makes This SBC Special?
The Ghana international is getting his first boosted card of EA FC 26, and it couldn’t come at a better time. While his base Icon card has fallen behind the current meta in Ultimate Team, this Winter Wildcards upgrade promises to bring him back into contention as a top-tier defensive midfielder.
The leaked stats suggest significant improvements across pace, defending, and physicality—exactly what you need in a modern CDM. Plus, the addition of the Slide Tackle+ PlayStyle enhances his defensive capabilities, making him a formidable ball-winner in the middle of the park.
Expected Cost and Value
At an estimated 250,000 coins, this SBC represents decent value for money. Compared to his base version’s 140,000-coin market price, you’re paying roughly 110,000 extra for substantial stat boosts and an enhanced PlayStyle.
For context, other Winter Wildcards SBCs in EA FC 26 have ranged from affordable to premium, making Essien’s expected price point relatively accessible for dedicated players.

Essien offers excellent value at the expected 250,000 coin price point.
