Mojang has officially named the first Minecraft game drop of 2026 — and it’s adorable. Tiny Takeover (Java Edition 26.1 / Bedrock Edition 26.10) is all about one thing: making you care way too much about your baby mobs. New Items & Features
Golden Dandelion — If you can’t get enough of the new baby mobs, you can choose to keep them young forever by using the new Golden Dandelion. To unlock the crafting recipe, simply breed your first mob, then combine a dandelion with eight gold ingots at a crafting table. Feed another one to reverse it.
Craftable Name Tags — Finally! With a single gold nugget and a scrap of paper, you can now craft name tags — no more dungeon hunting just to name your pets.
Trumpet Instrument — A new trumpet sound for note blocks, triggered when a note block is placed on top of a block of copper. The sound varies based on the oxidation level of the copper block.
New Version Numbering System
The first major release of 2026 will be Minecraft 26.1, representing the Spring 2026 game drop. This change applies to both Java Edition and Bedrock Edition, bringing consistency across platforms. The middle number refers to the year, the last number refers to which drop of the year it is — expect 26.2, 26.3, and 26.4 throughout 2026.
