The Standout Changes Explained

Chandelure Rising: Chandelure had been struggling to make an impact lately. To boost its overall damage output, the Special Defense-ignoring effect of Infiltrator has been buffed, making it easier to stack while raising its maximum potential. The cooldown of Imprison has also been lowered to compensate for its low mobility and fragility.

Pokémon

Zapdos Dethroned: Zapdos had been dominating the early game with Discharge and maintaining too much pressure mid-to-late game with Zap Cannon — both moves have been nerfed to reduce its overall damage output.

Mega Lucario Checked: Mega Lucario’s ability to spam Close Combat on wild Pokémon allowed it to defeat Boss Pokémon far too quickly — the cooldown reduction will now only trigger against opposing Pokémon, keeping its teamfight strength intact while slowing down its Boss-clearing speed. IMDb

Bug Fixes Worth Knowing

A duplication bug with Meowth’s Feint Attack has been fixed, Mega Gyarados’s Waterfall cooldown inconsistency has been corrected, and cooldown reduction effects now properly apply to Dragapult’s Unite Move and Suicune’s Ice Beam and Icy Wind. IMDb

FAQs

Q: Is Chandelure worth picking up again after the Long-Range Tactics Part 2 buff?

Yes — Chandelure’s Infiltrator buff makes it significantly more viable as a Special Attacker, with easier Sp. Def stacking and a lower Imprison cooldown making it a solid pick for players who love high-damage, glass-cannon gameplay styles.

Q: Why was Sirfetch’d nerfed in Pokémon UNITE’s Long-Range Tactics Part 2 patch?

Following a recent cooldown reduction buff, Sirfetch’d was gaining too much invulnerability in the late game — so Detect received a longer cooldown and Leaf Blade was nerfed, while Brutal Swing was buffed to maintain build variety without breaking balance.
