Genshin Impact Luna IV Unleashes Four Stunning New Skins—Including Game-Changing Traveler Outfits

HoYoverse’s Luna IV update (Version 6.3) drops January 14, 2026, bringing four character skins that redefine cosmetics in Genshin Impact. For the first time ever, Traveler outfits provide actual stat buffs while remaining free, marking a revolutionary shift in the game’s skin philosophy alongside premium options for Neuvillette and Yaoyao.

Luna IV New Skins Overview

Revolutionary Traveler Skins with Stat Buffs

“As Heaven and Earth Are Made Anew” represents Genshin Impact’s most significant cosmetic innovation since launch. These Traveler outfits are the first skins in the game’s history to provide mechanical advantages, granting element-specific stat bonuses:

• Anemo: +10% CRIT Rate
• Geo: +20% DEF
• Electro/Dendro/Hydro/Pyro/Cryo: Various combat enhancements

This groundbreaking feature blurs the line between cosmetics and optimization, transforming the Traveler from a neglected starter character into a viable team member for F2P and veteran players alike. The outfits showcase the twins’ original appearance as interstellar travelers before arriving in Teyvat, adding crucial lore depth.

How to Unlock: Progress through Luna IV’s Archon Quest storyline, specifically completing “Song of the Welkin Moon Act 8: True Moon.” No gacha pulls, Genesis Crystals, or premium currency required—every player receives these game-changing outfits simply by playing the main story.

Neuvillette’s Premium Melusent Gift

The esteemed Iudex of Fontaine receives “Melusent Gift,” a 4-star outfit crafted by the Melusines as a token of appreciation. This premium skin maintains Neuvillette’s dignified aesthetic while showcasing his bond with Fontaine’s unique creatures.

Pricing & Availability:

• Launch Discount: 1,350 Genesis Crystals (Luna IV update period)
• Regular Price: 1,680 Genesis Crystals (after discount expires)
• Shop Location: Character Outfit Shop (permanent availability)

While purely cosmetic without gameplay buffs, the skin appeals to Neuvillette mains and collectors seeking premium aesthetic options. The discount window provides optimal value for players planning to purchase.

Yaoyao’s Free Adeptus-Inspired Look

Young herbalist Yaoyao gains “Rainlit Bamboo Reverie,” an adeptus-themed outfit designed by her friend Qiqi. The skin emphasizes Yaoyao’s connection to Liyue’s mystical adepti while maintaining her youthful charm.

How to Obtain: Participate in the “A Lanternlit Ode to the Silver Moon” event (January 30 – February 23, 2026) and collect sufficient coins through the “Moonlit Merriment” mini-game. Complete all challenges before the February 23 deadline to permanently unlock this free skin.

Why Luna IV Skins Matter

This update marks a pivotal moment in Genshin Impact’s evolution. By introducing stat-boosting skins for free characters, HoYoverse acknowledges the Traveler’s underutilization while rewarding longtime players who’ve completed hundreds of hours of content. The elemental buffs enable budget-friendly team compositions previously impossible with base Traveler stats.
