The Missing Calf is a sub-quest in *Beyond the Margins*. The villagers ask about their lost herd, but your real task is to rescue **one bison calf**. The tricky part is finding your way through Hazran’s sandstorm, where the mini-map won’t be much help.

## Step-by-step: Find the calf and get back

1. **Speak with the villagers in Hazran.** Find the group near the withered tree. They point you toward the pasture south of the village, beyond a rocky hill.
2. **Follow the lantern trail.** Near the village entrance’s Marker Stone, use your lantern to reveal a faint trail into the desert. Stick to it—the storm makes navigation difficult, and the mini-map won’t reliably guide you.
3. **Clear the hideout.** The trail leads to Antumbra Sand Warpriests. Defeat them, then look to the left for the bison calf inside an enclosure. Pick it up; you don’t need to find the whole herd.
4. **Use Marker Stones to navigate back.** Look for a nearby Marker Stone pointing toward Hazran. If you reach Lukumiya first, use its marker to reorient toward Hazran. You can’t fast-travel while carrying the calf.
5. **Return to the village.** The villagers will have gathered the rest of the herd while you were away. The rescue awards the Hazran Survey Records; if your journal prompts you to report back, take them to Sebastian’s tent.
