Most GTA Online jobs are loud: explosions, car chases, big paydays. House Hunting goes the other way. It’s a Halloween community mission that plays more like a horror game, and right now it pays triple.
What Is the House Hunting Mission?
House Hunting is one of eight new Community Missions in GTA Online’s Halloween event. It’s credited to GTA Series Videos, and Rockstar built it with them through the Rockstar Mission Creator. It can be played solo or with a squad, and the premise is to search a house and find a figure called the Watcher.

How to Get Started?
Community Missions are launched from the activity marker in Los Santos. Choose House Hunting from the Community Mission Series playlist. You don’t need to finish the other seven first, because each mission stands alone and pays the triple bonus by itself.
What to Expect?
Reports describe a creeping start. You explore the house room by room, a cutscene plays and then the real hunt begins, which turns into a fight. Opening the final door completes the mission.
A few general tips for a horror-style job:
- Go in stocked. Bring full armor and snacks so a surprise doesn’t end your run.
- Take it slow. Searching the house carefully beats rushing, since the mood is part of the design.
- Bring a friend. Squad play can make the tense moments easier.
Why Play It Now?
The 3X GTA$ and RP bonus on Community Missions runs through October 28, so today is the last day. Rockstar’s weekly update usually switches on Thursday, which means the lineup and bonuses may change. If you want the triple payout, jump in before the reset.
Eight missions are in this week’s series, so you can also chain a few. These include Alien Retribution, The Chiliad Anomaly, Sasquatch Hunters and Biohazard Outbreak. Rockstar hasn’t announced an extra reward for finishing all eight, just the triple cash and reputation.
If you like your GTA with a little dread, House Hunting is worth one run. It’s short, it’s different and the payout is boosted while the Halloween bonus lasts.
