Bungie rolled out Update 9.5.5.2 on February 10, 2026, tackling progression blockers and making the beloved Dead Man’s Tale easier to access. Here’s everything fixed in this quick maintenance patch.

Dead Man’s Tale: The Big Change

Previously, players who unlocked the pattern still needed to own the relevant expansion (Beyond Light or Season of the Chosen) to craft or reshape this iconic Exotic Scout Rifle. The new update removes this requirement entirely.

What this means: If you’ve already obtained the pattern through the Presage mission rotator, you can now freely craft and customize Dead Man’s Tale regardless of your expansion library. Perfect for new players or those returning after a break!

Need the pattern first? The Presage mission appears in the Exotic Mission Rotator every three weeks. Check our Exotic mission schedule to plan your farm sessions.

Onslaught Progression Fixed

Wave 10 boss completion in Pinnacle Ops was leaving players stranded—the return portal simply wouldn’t spawn. This patch resolves that frustrating blocker, ensuring smooth run completions. If you’re chasing god rolls or titles, our Onslaught strategy guide has optimal loadouts.

Minor But Important Fixes

Conductor’s Keep Conquest players can finally progress past previous roadblocks. Text visibility issues from patch 9.5.5.1 are resolved—no more mystery menus.

Players who previously claimed related Triumphs will find shaders automatically unlocked in Collections. The Deimosuffusion healing effect no longer triggers weapon flinch (goodbye, unintended difficulty spike).

Looking Ahead

With Shadow and Order’s rumored delay, Bungie continues maintaining the Renegades experience through consistent hotfixes. The community’s biggest current question: when will Iron Banner return?
