The Story So Far

Zombies

Following the events of Astra Malorum, the Black Ops 7 Zombies crew have left the floating rock in space and are now warped to a version of the iconic Nuketown map. The cinematic trailer focuses heavily on the Warden — the cowboy-hat-wearing villain who has imprisoned Ava Jansen, daughter of Samantha Maxis and a character with deep connections to the Dark Aether. The Warden is not only keeping Ava imprisoned but also appears to be siphoning her powers for his own plans. Rescuing her is expected to be the main quest objective.

Why Nuketown? Here’s the Twist

Leaker TheGhostOfHope has indicated that the map will feature several iterations of Nuketown, and players may be able to travel between them — meaning this isn’t just one Nuketown, but potentially a time-fractured series of them. This makes Paradox Junction the third Zombies map to incorporate Nuketown, after Nuketown Zombies and Alpha Omega.

New Weapons & Items to Get Excited About

Treyarch has been teasing Paradox Junction through cryptic social posts. A partial image of the Blundergat — the fan-favourite Wonder Weapon from Mob of the Dead — has appeared in community teasers, hinting at a returning classic. Alongside this, the Turncoat GobbleGum (charms nearby zombies to fight for you) and the Lockshot Scorestreak are both confirmed for the mid-season update.

What to Expect From the Main Quest

Based on the trailer, players will enter a time-distorted Nuketown watched over by the Warden, navigate shifting map states, and work toward freeing Ava Jansen. A new Turncoat GobbleGum allows nearby zombies to temporarily fight on your behalf — which could be a key mechanic during tougher rounds and boss sequences.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 continues to push the Zombies mode narrative further than any previous entry, and Paradox Junction looks set to be the season’s biggest story payoff.
