The Deep North — The Final Biome

1 The Deep North is the centerpiece of Valheim 1.0 and the game’s final biome update. Located at the northern edge of the world, this frozen region introduces new environmental hazards, resources, enemies, recipes, and other content to discover. 7 Some of the enemies revealed in the trailer for the update include a massive ancient troll, twisted goat-like creatures in dungeons, and other unnamed bosses.

5 Valheim finally gets achievements with 1.0, although progress will start tracking when the full release arrives. Iron Gate is also adding more cinematics to key moments throughout the game, including boss encounters and the ending. Valheim 1.0 also launches on PlayStation 5 and Nintendo Switch 2 alongside its existing PC, Mac, and Xbox versions, with full crossplay across supported platforms.

❓ Do My Old Saves Carry Over?

3 Your world will receive new content even if it was created before the update, although biome generation will only work properly on areas that have not yet been explored. Iron Gate always recommends starting the game over from scratch to get the best possible experience. 1 Anyone who already owns Valheim in Early Access will receive the 1.0 update automatically and will not need to purchase the game again.
