🧠What Makes This Kickoff Special
The “Pacific Kickoff” isn’t just another regional tournament — it’s being touted as the launchpad for the entire VCT 2026 season in APAC. Riot’s decision to use a triple‑elimination format gives teams more room to fight back after a loss, increasing the drama and allowing more storylines to unfold throughout the competition.
Here’s why this year’s Kickoff is crucial:
- 🏆 Road to Masters Santiago: The top three teams from the Pacific Kickoff will earn automatic spots in Masters Santiago, the first international event of 2026.
- 🔄 Triple Elimination Format: Teams aren’t knocked out after one loss — they can fight through three brackets (Upper → Middle → Lower), making every match count.
- 🗺️ High‑Profile Teams: Powerhouses like Paper Rex and Gen.G enter the season with strong rosters and high expectations.
- 🌏 APAC Focus: With 12 teams representing the diverse Asia‑Pacific region, this event showcases both elite veterans and rising talent.
All matches during the Kickoff stage are best‑of‑three (Bo3), with finals often switching to best‑of‑five (Bo5) formats — upping the stakes as teams clash for advancement.
