Delta Reign launches today, and the big question is simple: which cards are actually worth your pack-opening luck? Here are the best cards in Delta Reign, ranked using early tournament data from Japan plus collector reviews.
One honest caveat first: the play data comes from Japan’s version of the set, Storm Emeralda. English results may differ, so treat this as a strong guide rather than a guarantee.

1. Talonflame ex
The numbers are striking. In Japan’s City Leagues between September 26 and October 29, 2026, Talonflame ex appeared in 508 top decklists, ahead of Legendary Pyroduct with 184, Mega Rayquaza ex with 162 and Adventure Lantern with 156. That makes it the clear tournament workhorse. nerdsnack
2. Legendary Pyroduct
This Stadium is one of the set’s two-card Legendary Stadiums, which come together in one pack. It ranks second in those same results, so it’s a strong sign that this support card is doing real work in competitive lists.
3. Mega Rayquaza ex
The set’s headliner returns as a Mega, for the first time since the XY—Ancient Origins expansion. It’s not just a showpiece: one preview described a crazy new engine built around Mega Rayquaza ex, already seeing results in Japan’s City Leagues. 4. Adventure Lantern
Appearing in 156 top decklists, this support card is a solid inclusion for players building around the set’s mechanics. It’s rarely flashy, but consistent staples like this often decide close matches.
5. Mega Rayquaza ex (Special Illustration Rare)
For collectors, this is the pull. One reviewer called it by far the best-looking card in Delta Reign, and the one to chase. The artwork comes from Kazuki Minami, winner of the 2024 Pokémon TCG Illustration Contest. comicbookcardlines
