Why Gilberto Silva Is a Must-Have
Gilberto Silva wasn’t just any Arsenal player—he was the anchor of the legendary 2003/04 “Invincibles” squad that went unbeaten throughout the entire Premier League season. His Hero card reflects that dominance with exceptional stats: 90 Defending and 90 Physical make him an absolute wall in midfield.
What separates this card from other defensive midfielders is the coveted Anticipate+ PlayStyle, allowing him to read plays before they develop. Combined with 84 pace, he’s no longer the slow CDM stereotype—this version can actually chase down attackers and recover possession in crucial moments.

Cost Analysis & Value Assessment
At approximately 320,000 coins across 5 squads, Gilberto represents solid value for a Hero card with his stat profile. The TOTW requirement adds some complexity, but current market prices for 84-85 rated TOTW cards remain reasonable.
Smart builders can reduce costs significantly by using untradeable fodder from Division Rivals and Squad Battles rewards. Check our EA FC 26 fodder management guide to maximize your coin efficiency when completing expensive SBCs.
Best Position & Chemistry Setup
While Gilberto’s base position is CDM, his versatility shines through playability as a CB or CM. His 82 passing allows him to distribute from deep positions, while 83 dribbling prevents him from feeling clunky on the ball.
For competitive players building Premier League squads, pairing Gilberto with attacking midfielders creates perfect balance. His defensive stats free up your CAMs to push forward without worrying about counter-attacks. Explore more team-building strategies in our best formations guide.
