When Will Fortnite Servers Come Back Up?
As per official information from Epic Games, the Fortnite downtime today (April 30, 2026) is slated to last for one and a half hours (90 minutes). However, don’t set your alarm too tight — mid-season updates don’t have downtime as long as seasonal transitions, lasting around three to four hours on average, meaning Fortnite servers should be back up around 7 AM to 8 AM ET.
Thirty minutes before maintenance starts, the ability to queue for a match will be disabled. If you are still in a match, you can complete it — but once done, you will lose access. Players in modes like LEGO Ninjago or Brick Life should log out before maintenance starts to avoid losing progress.
What’s New in Update v40.30?
Custom matches are being added with this update, limited to Battle Royale and Zero Build. Players will be able to tweak match settings such as Storm Wait Time, Shields, Health, and more.
The update also brings fresh weapons in Battle Royale, a new Blitz Map, and a Reload Loot Pool Update. Insider Gaming
Looking ahead, leaks suggest a Star Wars collaboration lined up for May 4, a Ratatouille Sidekick, and Overwatch characters joining the timeline — though these could roll out gradually after today’s downtime ends.
