If you’re running a Warlock in Diablo 4’s Season 13 (Lord of Hatred) and your Sigil builds feel underwhelming, one chest piece will change everything. The Fleshwrit Carapace is arguably the most impactful Warlock unique in the game right now — and here’s everything you need to know about it.

What Does the Fleshwrit Carapace Do?

The Fleshwrit Carapace is a Warlock-exclusive unique chest armor that offers up to 90% increased damage to every Sigil skill, making them exceptionally potent in combat.

But the raw damage boost is just half the story. In addition to the 90% raw damage boost, the Fleshwrit Carapace grants you 1 kill per second while it’s active in addition to any enemy the Sigil kills. Any excess kill stacks are saved after the Sigils expire — giving it one of the best utility effects amongst all Warlock unique items in the game.

Since Diablo 4 Sigil skills rely on kill stacks to trigger powerful effects — summoning demons, exploding enemies, or granting Shadowform — this passive kill generation is game-changing for nearly every Warlock build.

How to Get the Fleshwrit Carapace

Method 1: Farm Lord Zir (Best Method)

Lord Zir is the only lair boss whose loot pool includes the Fleshwrit Carapace — making his hoard the best way to acquire it. Head to The Darkened Way and enter the Ancient’s Seat to begin the fight.

Method 2: Belial’s Hoard

Belial is the only boss whose hoard can be modified to drop loot from any other lair boss. Find him in the Palace of the Deceiver dungeon in Kehjistan — then use Betrayer’s Husks to modify his hoard to drop Lord Zir’s loot.

Method 3: Horadric Cube Transmutation

You can try to roll the Fleshwrit Carapace using the Horadric Cube’s Item Transmutation feature — upgrading a common chest piece for a chance to roll a random unique from the same equipment category. Diablo 4 Wiki

Best Build to Use It In

The Apocalypse Warlock build is designed to deliver massive amounts of AoE damage via the Annihilation variant of the Apocalypse ultimate skill. The Rite of the Nameless Sigil allows you to cast all base Sigil skills and deal 200% increased damage to enemies inside the Sigils. Pair this with the Fleshwrit Carapace for relentless kill-stack generation.
