What’s Inside the Infernal Edition?
The Infernal Edition bundles the critically acclaimed Diablo II remaster, the Lord of Destruction expansion, and the brand-new Reign of the Warlock DLC into one complete package. Here’s what you’re getting:
The Warlock Class – The first new Diablo II class in 25 years features three skill paths: Demon (summon hellspawn), Eldritch (weapon enchantment), and Chaos (elemental destruction). Voiced by Rahul Kohli.
Enhanced Endgame – Terror Zones receive upgrades with consumables for choosing terrorized Acts. Conquer all terrorized Act bosses to summon the Colossal Ancients pinnacle boss.
Quality-of-Life Features – Customizable loot filters, dedicated stash tabs for gems/materials/runes, and the Chronicle system tracking your account-wide item collection. These improvements significantly modernize the 26-year-old classic.
Cross-Game Bonuses – Unlock Kervek the Putrid Pet and Forbidden Tethers Back Trophy in Diablo IV, plus the Horadric Cube Housing Item in World of Warcraft (requires separate game purchases).
Platform Availability
Available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC via Steam and Battle.net—marking D2R’s Steam debut.
Is It Worth Buying?
For New Players: At $39.99, the Infernal Edition represents excellent value. You’re getting one of gaming’s most influential ARPGs, fully remastered with 200+ skills across eight classes, plus the fresh Warlock experience right from the start.
For Existing Owners: The $24.99 DLC price sparks debate. While the Warlock class is transformative and endgame improvements are substantial, some players criticize locking quality-of-life features behind a paywall. However, for dedicated fans, it’s the first meaningful expansion in over two decades.
