What Is the Needle in a Haystack Quest?
This is a multi-map scouting mission given by The Mechanic in Escape from Tarkov. You don’t need to kill anyone — just reach specific investigation points and survive the raid. That said, the locations are far from safe.
💡 No Kappa Container required, but you earn solid EXP and rubles — well worth the run.

Step-by-Step Walkthrough
Step 1 — Ground Zero (TerraGroup Courtyard) Head to the north-eastern section of Ground Zero. The courtyard park sits in front of TerraGroup HQ. Approach from the south or west. Walk near the central fountain area to trigger the investigation. Extract and move on.
Step 2 — Interchange (Kart Track) Load into Interchange. The kart track sits on the exterior, opposite the IDEA store entrance. It’s completely exposed — go prone or crouching behind concrete barriers and complete the objective fast. Scavs can spawn in the parking lot, so time your approach.
Step 3 & 4 — Shoreline (Two Spots) On Shoreline, hit the blue-fenced construction site on the south-eastern coast first. Then head to the Health Resort’s north-eastern side for the children’s playground investigation. Both spots can be done in the same raid if you’re efficient.
Final Step — Extract & Collect Once all four objectives are done and you’ve extracted successfully, return to The Mechanic to claim your rewards.
