Just when you’re settled into the 3D chaos, Control Resonant throws you a curveball. Rebuild swaps the usual combat for a top-down, 16-bit trip through Dylan’s childhood, and it’s easy to get turned around. Here’s how to get through it.

How to Start?
Rebuild is the next main quest after Sever the Hedron Links. It triggers when Dylan confides in Zoe and wonders whether Jesse is still alive inside the Hedron, and then the screen glitches out and drops you into the mission.

Control Resonant uick Walkthrough
| Step | What to Do |
|---|---|
| 1. Spell the name | Move the letter D around and collect the other letters to spell DYLAN. Y is top right, L top left, A bottom right, N bottom left. |
| 2. Enter the flashback | Return to the center where the letters flash to start the retro sequence. |
| 3. Leave the house | Grab your backpack from the bottom of the room and head downstairs. Your dad is yelling in the kitchen, so go around him and step outside. |
| 4. Cross town | Follow the roads north. Bullies will attack you along the way. |
| 5. Find the shards | When the scene changes, follow the hallway north and try the elevator. After the scene, interact with the final shard, then the slide in the middle of the room. |
| 6. Finish | Talk to Jesse, then use the slide projector and enter the room. |
Tips From the Pixel Trenches
Think of this as a story beat, not a fight. The mission is a memory recreation with puzzles rather than a combat gauntlet, so don’t rush it. Take a moment to enjoy the storytelling, because it revisits the Faden family’s past and leads into the game’s final stretch.
Once the final scene ends, you’ll return to the normal 3D world with the quest marked complete. Top up your health before moving on, since the next major fight against the Hedron can take up to 30 minutes.
