Why Complete the Marta Torrejón SBC?
Budget-Friendly Elite Defender
At approximately 30,000 coins to complete, Torrejón represents exceptional value in the current meta. Her 87 rating makes her competitive in most Ultimate Team lineups, especially for players building La Liga or Spain-themed squads. The affordability stems from EA’s lenient SBC requirements—similar to the recent Jonas Hofmann and Ashley Young Time Warp SBCs.
First Special Card of FC 26
This marks Torrejón’s debut special version in the current game cycle. Her base card sits at just 77 overall, making this 10-point upgrade significant for defensive stats. While she doesn’t feature a real face scan in-game, her in-game performance more than compensates with solid defensive attributes tailored for the centre-back role.
Chemistry and Team Building
As a Spanish defender playing in Liga F, Torrejón offers strong chemistry links for hybrid squads. Her full chemistry bonus (like all Time Warp players) means she’ll fit seamlessly into any team composition without chemistry concerns. This flexibility is particularly valuable as the Team of the Year (TOTY) event approaches, where versatile high-rated players become essential for completing premium SBCs.
SBC Requirements Breakdown
The Marta Torrejón Time Warp SBC requires two squads to complete, keeping costs manageable:
Squad 1: Top Form
- Minimum Team Rating: 84
- Minimum Team Chemistry: 25
- Number of Players: 11
Cost-Effective Solution: Use common 84-rated gold cards from your club or pick up cheap Team of the Week (TOTW) cards. Focus on high-chemistry nations like France, England, or Brazil to easily hit the 25 chemistry requirement.
Squad 2: National Pride
- Minimum Team Rating: 83
- Minimum Team Chemistry: 22
- Number of Players in Squad: 11
Budget Tip: This squad has even more lenient requirements. Utilize untradeable cards from your club first, then fill gaps with 83-rated fodder from popular leagues like Premier League or La Liga to maximize chemistry.
Cheapest Completion Strategies
Use Fodder First
Before buying any players, check your club for untradeable cards. High-rated duplicates from recent pack openings, SBC rewards, or Season Pass rewards can dramatically reduce completion costs.
Target Specific Leagues
Premier League and La Liga players typically offer the best value for chemistry requirements. Players from these leagues are abundant on the transfer market, driving prices down through competition.
Timing Your Purchase
Complete the SBC during off-peak hours (weekday mornings) when fewer players are online. Market prices often dip during these windows as supply temporarily exceeds demand. Avoid completing SBCs immediately after release when hype drives prices up.
TOTW Investment
Team of the Week cards can sometimes be cheaper than equivalent-rated gold cards, especially older TOTW releases. Browse TOTW 1-16 cards rated 83-84 for potential bargains.
Is Marta Torrejón Worth It?
Verdict: Yes, for most players.
At under 35,000 coins, Torrejón offers excellent value as an 87-rated defender who can slot into various squads. Even if you don’t plan to use her long-term, she’s perfect as high-rated fodder for future Icon or Hero SBCs during TOTY. Her price-to-rating ratio makes this one of the most efficient SBCs currently available.
However, if you’re saving every coin for Team of the Year investments, you might want to skip this unless you have excess fodder. TOTY begins January 16, and liquidity will be crucial for trading during that event.
Time Warp Context
The Time Warp promo celebrates players approaching career twilight and legendary Icons, running from January 2-16, 2026. EA has released multiple affordable SBCs like Arturo Vidal, Ashley Young, Jonas Hofmann, and now Torrejón to ensure players can build competitive squads without spending heavily before TOTY.
These Time Warp cards feature full chemistry bonuses regardless of squad composition, making them incredibly versatile for both competitive play and SBC completion. With Team of the Year around the corner, stockpiling high-rated players like Torrejón is a smart long-term strategy.
