As hype for Grand Theft Auto 6 continues to build, fans are debating which iconic characters from the GTA universe are most likely to return. While several beloved figures are expected to make cameos, one name stands out as the most disappointing potential omission — Lazlow Jones.
Lazlow has been a constant presence in the series since Grand Theft Auto III (2001). Whether as a radio host, failed celebrity, or comic relief, his sarcastic personality and running jokes have become a core part of GTA’s satirical charm. From hosting Chatterbox FM to appearing in GTA V as a washed-up reality TV star, he’s one of the few characters with appearances across multiple eras.
Table of Contents
Long-Running GTA Characters & GTA 6 Likelihood
| Character | First Appeared | Expected in GTA 6? | Reason for Omission/Return |
|---|---|---|---|
| Lazlow Jones | GTA III (2001) | Very Unlikely | Biggest potential omission |
| Brucie Kibbutz | GTA IV (2008) | Possible Cameo | Fan favorite, fits Vice City vibe |
| Chop | GTA V (2013) | Possible | Franklin’s dog could return |
| Big Smoke | GTA San Andreas | Unlikely | Canonically deceased |
| Phil Cassidy | GTA Vice City | Unlikely | Long-running but less relevant |
Why Lazlow’s absence would hurt the most:
- He represents the satirical heart of GTA’s radio stations, which are always one of the best parts of every new game.
- His self-deprecating humor and endless failures would fit perfectly in GTA 6’s social media-obsessed, influencer-filled Leonida setting.
- Removing him after 25 years would feel like losing a longtime friend from the franchise.
While Rockstar is known for surprise returns, current leaks suggest Lazlow may sit this one out. If that’s the case, it would mark the end of one of GTA’s longest-running jokes.
