Why Mechanical Mounts Are Special
Mechanical mounts in Crimson Desert are mechanical exosuits that provide you with protection and combat ability when you travel in them — making them fundamentally different from animal mounts. There are three available: the Scout Automaton, the Golden Star Mech, and the A.T.A.G. Threads
All 3 Mechanical Mounts — How to Get Each One
| Mount | Type | How to Get | Best For |
|---|---|---|---|
| Scout Automaton | Exploration Mech | Blueprint from Marni’s Laboratorium; craft at Delesyia Workshop | Late-game exploration & mapping |
| Golden Star Mech | Combat Mech | Defeat the mechanical dragon boss; collect the dropped Mount Key | Combat and power |
| A.T.A.G. (All-Terrain Armored Gear) | Combat Vehicle | Unlocked during Chapter 10 at Gorthak | Battlefield dominance |
Scout Automaton — The Explorer’s Best Friend
The Scout Automaton is the preferred vehicle for long-distance mapping and late-game exploration. Its primary blueprint is found inside a treasure chest in Marni’s Museum/Laboratorium complex north of the Sanctum of Devotion. Once you have the blueprint, this mount must be crafted at the Delesyia Workshop. It features a built-in lantern and infinite stamina, making it the best mount for surveying the vast map. Golden Star Mech — The Boss Drop Reward
Once the massive mechanical dragon is defeated, it drops a unique Mount Key. Taking this key allows you to permanently unlock and pilot your own Golden Star Mech. You do not need to craft this item — the key is the direct unlock. The Korea Times
A.T.A.G. — The Ultimate War Machine
The A.T.A.G. comes into play during Chapter 10, when you must defeat mecha creatures assaulting the Ironflame Orcs’ bastion of Gorthak. It boasts a rapid-fire machine gun, a defense array, a ramming maneuver, a wide-area blast cannon, and an EMP discharge. You can later upgrade the A.T.A.G. with lasers, pincers, and heavy plating.
