Why Is This EVO a Big Deal?
Simply put, a 90-rated goalkeeper from an Evolution is unheard of in this game cycle. Previous GK EVOs like the Go Long EVO offered solid upgrades, but the Cake Catcher blows past them in terms of the ceiling it unlocks. If you can slot in an 88-rated keeper who meets the eligibility requirements, you’re essentially getting a meta-tier shot-stopper for just 17,000 coins — arguably one of the best value EVOs of the entire FUT Birthday event.
EVO Levels & How to Complete Them
The Cake Catcher EVO has 3 levels, each requiring the same simple challenge: play 2 matches in Squad Battles on minimum Semi-Pro difficulty (or Rivals, Champions, or Live Events) using your active EVO player. Repeat this process across all three levels to unlock the full boosts including improved Diving, Reflexes, Handling, Positioning, and GK-specific PlayStyles.
The three-level structure (unlike recent five-level EVOs like Birthday Fullback) makes this a quick and painless completion — ideal even for casual players.
Best Players to Use
The community’s top pick is Guglielmo Vicario (Tottenham Hotspur), who reaches a jaw-dropping 90 OVR after completing all three levels with boosted Diving (90), Reflexes (90), and Positioning (89). He’s an elite choice especially for Premier League squads.
For budget-conscious squads or international team builders, there are several 87–88 OVR keepers who also qualify and offer tremendous value after the EVO upgrade.
