Mojang keeps stacking gifts onto its winter drop, and Snapshot 7, released on November 3, 2026, might be the coziest one yet. Builders get a full Minecraft Calcite block set, music fans get a frosty new disc, and theorycrafters get a fresh mystery to chew on.
Calcite Gets a Full Makeover
Calcite finally graduates from “that white stuff in geodes” to a proper building palette. It now comes in Pillar, Slab, Stair and Wall variants, all craftable at the Stonecutter. The set also includes Polished Calcite and Polished Calcite Bricks, which have their own Slab, Stair and Wall versions. Both are crafted the same way: arrange four of the base block in a 2×2 grid on a Crafting Table. If you’re a builder, this is a clean, bright material for snowy lodges, temples and modern builds.

The “Flurry” Music Disc
The new disc features the track “Flurry” by Hyper Potions, and your best shot at finding it is looting the chests in igloo basements. That’s a good excuse to explore snowy biomes. It also pairs nicely with the jukebox playlist feature from Snapshot 4, where discs in a chest above a jukebox play in order. Build a winter dance party and let it loop.
The Secret Block Fueling Sift Theories
Mojang also slipped in the Chiseled Soulshale, a dull green decorative block that carries the face of a Singer mob from Minecraft Dungeons 2. It turns up in Ancient City chests with roughly a 23% chance. Together with the Flurry disc and a new jukebox texture, it has players speculating that the upcoming Sift update could involve opening a portal through a musical sequence. Mojang hasn’t confirmed any of this, so treat it as fan theory for now.
Other Changes Worth Knowing
The snapshot also tweaks Frostbite and Stray mobs and adds keyboard navigation. Calcite, Polished Calcite and Calcite Bricks all fall under the Slow Bouncy archetype for the Sulfur Cube, which matters if you experiment with that mob. Want more coverage like this? How to Try It?
Snapshots are experimental and can break worlds, so back up your saves first. Open the Java Edition launcher, enable snapshots in your installation settings, and launch the new version. There’s no official release date yet for the full 26.4 winter update, so keep an eye on our gaming guides for the drop.
